Length per submission is to be determined by content and editorial decision (about 2500 words maximum, please). Our primary concern centers on subject, context (information for the mariner) and a flow toward product information. You may reference previous newsletters for examples of published works. We suggest you submit a draft or proposal of your intended article before making a substantial investment of time. Authors may reference any publications sold by Bluewater as per normal bibliographic standards, including their own publications. However Bluewater will not allow overt advertising for any product in the newsletter body. Final judgment regarding the appropriate reference by an author to his/her published work will be determined by the Bluewater editorial staff. Opinions about products are allowed if represented as such. Final judgment regarding the appropriate expression of product opinion will be determined by the Bluewater editorial staff. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Bluewater will disclaim any responsibility for material misused by any submitting author and indemnify itself against any legal repercussions. Critiques and product comparisons will be carefully evaluated by the Bluewater staff. Articles must include a brief biography (if necessary) to introduce your article and supply a current email address for contact (if desired). Graphics, illustrations and photographs are encouraged. Photographs and graphics should be gif or jpeg, at least 72 dpi and either owned by the author or in the public domain. Authors will receive a byline and compensation of a gift certificate for use at Bluewater Books & Charts (a standard article will receive a $50 gift certificate) to redeem online, at the Ft. Lauderdale location or by phone. Supply a current email address or other contact information. By submitting your work, you give Bluewater & Far Horizons, LLC, implicitly or explicitly, the non-exclusive, but not restricted, right to copy, edit, reprint, publish, or distribute your work both online and offline and we reserve the right to keep submissions online and archived. Author retains responsibility for accuracy, originality and content. Articles should be original with attribution given where due. We reserve the right to edit or modify and will attempt to seek author's permission prior to publishing and to notify author of intent to publish. We look forward to your nautical news!
