Florida
Boating Website Just Launched South Florida has always been considered a boating mecca, both for locals and visiting cruisers. The area provides the nautical minded with everything they could wish for: scenic cruising grounds, a well established marine service industry and the perfect jumping off point for the Caribbean. To help boaters in the area, VantagePoint Guides has just launched a new website with extensive boating information on the area. |
|
The site contains a wealth of useful information for boaters in the area. There are sections detailing all the waterfront restaurants and bars, marinas and shipyards, boat ramps, boating clubs, things to do and much more. It is easily one of the most comprehensive sites dedicated to the area. There is an especially helpful "How To" section with numerous articles. Adding to the site’s appeal is the large number of photos that go along with each section.
But don’t worry. The site is not merely a promotional piece for their hardcopy guides. According to Dave Kresge, the editor and publisher, the site has two main goals. "After two-plus years of research on the South Florida Boating Guide, we realized we had so much information that would not be able to fit in the hardcopy guide. As one example, we shot over 15,000 photos along the waterway and another 3,000 aerial photos from helicopters. There was no way we could fit all that into the physical guide. The website, however, is essentially limitless in terms of what we can put up. Secondly, while we would prefer that everyone have our hardcopy guides, the reality is that many boaters, for various reasons, will not. The website allows us to reach these boaters and provide valuable information to them." The new site has only been up for one month but already has a wealth of useful information. The publishers stated that this is only the beginning: they have a backlog of additional articles and information that they are busily working on uploading. All in all, this new site is a valuable boating resource for south Florida, and one that promises to get even better with time. |
