Toni and Justin just returned from the Palm Beach Boat Show, where sales were good and the show was busy. It followed immediately behind the announcement that Yachting Promotions, the company, owned by Kay Pearson, that puts together such shows as Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach, has been sold to California-based company called Active Interest Media. Nobody expects that this will cause any noticeable changes in the shows, and the crowd at Palm Beach was unaffected. With everyone leaving Fort Lauderdale, you might think that things are going to be lonely around here this summer. Not hardly! While Ted and the crew at Armchair Sailor are in the middle of their summer rush, we're planning to take the time this summer to focus on our neighbors. There are thousands of boats in South Florida that don't go away during the summer. Some of them are small fishing boats, some are local sailboats, some are 100' yachts. On the first Saturday in June, we're hosting an all-day event featuring speakers, freebies, discounts, food and more. The theme of the event is hurricane preparation, because what could be more relevant this summer? Last but not least, the 2006-2007 catalog has finally arrived and it looks fantastic! It's thicker, bigger, and much more detailed than any of our previous catalogs, and we're convinced that it's the best ever. Call or click to order yours! If your travels take you away from South Florida this summer, be sure to call us or email us and let us know where you are. Knowing that our customers have sailed to exotic places using our charts is one of the most satisfying things about this business. John Mann In this issue...
