What a success! With the help of the folks at The Triton, who made this event into one of their monthly networking series, we managed to attract over 140 participants. Each received a complimentary Deck Log from Bluewater.

The unique thing about this event was that we invited representatives from some of the leading marine electronic and software companies to attend and explain their products. Navionics, Nobeltec, Furuno, Transas, C-Map and British Admiralty Charts and Publications were all represented. Captains were able to discuss their boats navigational systems one-on-one with the experts, and our Chart Department Crew was there to answer questions about choosing cartography for different systems and different areas.

But don't think this event was all technical talk! Fine food, wine and beer were set up under a tent at Bluewater's main entrance, and people enjoyed the warm weather as they mingled outside and shared a drink or two. For Bluewater's Crew, it was a nice change to be able to chat with some of the customers that we see on a daily basis.

Toni Barber and her daughter, Karlie, supervised the event, making sure the food arrived, the tent was set up, and that people were happy. Rob Handley and the Electronic Chart Department Crew made sure things worked on the technical side, keeping all of our chart plotters and computers up and running, and Alexis, our star bookseller, stayed late to oversee the cash register. Everyone's hard work made the event run smoothly, and we couldn't have hoped for a better crowd.
